Lydia Dean Pilcher – Chair/Founder, PGA Green East
Lydia Pilcher is a New York based film producer and founder of Cine Mosaic, an independent production company with an energetic focus on entertaining stories that promote social, cultural and political diversity. The company specializes in international co-productions and independent film finance based on studio and independent models, with business partners in the US, Europe, India, Turkey, Africa and the Middle East.
Pilcher has produced over 35 feature films that include Queen of Katwe (dir: Mira Nair). You Don’t Know Jack (dir: Barry Levinson), and The Darjeeling Limited (dir: Wes Anderson), and most recently The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks (dir: George Wolfe) in collaboration with Harpo and HBO Films.
Pilcher is a two time Emmy Award winner and was nominated for an Academy Award in 2014 for Cutie & The Boxer (dir: Zachary Heinzerling) She has produced for many celebrated directors including Kathryn Bigelow, Wes Anderson, Wayne Wang, Gina Prince Bythewood, Alison Maclean, Ritesh Batra, George Wolfe, Jane Anderson and a dozen films with Mira Nair.
Pilcher is Vice President of Motion Pictures, Producers Guild of America, and Founder/ Chair of PGA Women’s Impact Network. She co-authored The Ms. Factor: The Power of Female Driven Content”. Pilcher also Co-Chairs PGA Green, which works to promote sustainable practices within the entertainment industry by focusing on greening productions, education, and climate messaging through storytelling.
Mari Jo Winkler – Chair/Founder, PGA Green East
Mari Jo recently produced the FX TV pilot Y based on Y: The Last Man and Executive Produced Warner Bros. feature film, The Goldfinch. She previously produced the 1st season of HBO series Vinyl, Executive Produced The Only Living Boy in New York, The Dictator, Premium Rush, Fair Game, Away We Go, Dan in Real Life and No Reservations and has Co-Produced Lucky You, In Her Shoes, and Shall We Dance.
She is currently on the board of the Producer’s Guild of America East. She is a dedicated environmentalist and a recent recipient of the City & State New York Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Honor. She lives in New York City with her husband and daughter.
Katherine Carpenter – Co-Chair/Founder, PGA Green East
Katherine is an award-winning documentary producer specializing in environmental subjects from endangered species to climate change in diverse habitats around the world. Her projects include Hundred Heartbeats, A Year on Earth, and Race to Save the Planet. In 2007 she was trained as a climate presenter by Al Gore and The Climate Project.
She is currently a carbon-reduction consultant with Green Media Solutions helping to green the sets of Nightly News with Brian Williams, Saturday Night Live, Boardwalk Empire and the feature films Away We Go, It’s Complicated and Morning Glory.
She lives with her two daughters and a Catahoula Leopard dog in New York City.
Amanda Scarano Carter – Chair, PGA Green West
Amanda’s entertainment career spans over 20 years of film production, including overseeing physical production and co-producing films for more than a decade at Pierce Brosnan’s MGM based film production company, Irish DreamTime. After leaving the production world, Amanda consulted in business development and operations for independent studios and production companies before starting work as Director of Sales and Client Relations as historic Sunset Bronson Studios, the site of the original Warner Brothers and now the headquarters of Netflix Studios’ Original Productions Team. Amanda is a graduate of the UCLA School of Theater, Film and Television and the UCLA Anderson School of Management’s Executive Management Program.
Amanda has been involved with PGA Green since its inception and has also worked as part of PGA Green’s Steering Committee for GreenProductionGuide.com.
Rachael Joy – Chair, PGA Green West
A filmmaker and activist, Rachael Joy is passionate about great storytelling and the environment. As a producer of “It’s Easy Being Green” for HGTV, Rachael shot with green luminaries such as Willie Nelson, John Cougar Mellencamp, Paul Newman, Daryl Hannah, and renowned chef Alice Waters. She’s produced stories covering the Solar Decathlon, 40th anniversary of Earth Day, climate change, sustainable fashion, organic gardening and the BP oil spill. She’s been featured talent in the Environmental Defense Fund’s “Climate Change Campaign” video series and was host of Treehugger’s “Green Holiday Gift Guide” for PlanetGreen.com. She recently founded EcoPop TV, where she produces and hosts a series dedicated to green stories that are fun, informative and occasionally irreverent.
Shahnti Olcese Brook – Co-Chair, PGA Green West
Shahnti is an Emmy Award winning Producer and a Peabody recipient. She has had the privilege of working on many variety/entertainment news and talk shows for NBCUniversal, Telepictures, PBS, KTLA, SciFi (Syfy) and more. Shahnti was an integral part of the development team that created the Show, “Crossing Over With John Edward.” In addition she was instrumental during the creation of the TV Guide Channel, the launch of Reelz Channel and the expansion of a combat sports network taking it international. Shahnti has cast, produced and booked hundreds of celebrities and human interest stories throughout her career.
Shahnti has done work with NNEDV (National Network to End Domestic Violence) and DVIS (Domestic Violence Intervention Services). She volunteers her time on her Parks and Recreation department council to keep her community safe, clean and environmentally friendly.
Shahnti has been a proud member of PGA Green since 2010. She believes in a greener living environment. Having been born and raised on the Big Island of Hawaii, where these practices where ingrained in her, she feels PGA Green is a perfect fit.
Christina Delfico – Co-Chair, PGA Green East
Christina is an Emmy Award nominated independent family producer specializing in science and life skills programming for children and their families.
EP and co-creator of Destination Solar System, an 8K immersive experience, she combined live improv talent with vivid NASA based solar system imagery. She served as VP and EP for Sesame Workshop, collaborated with CBS, PBS, and others. Beyond her two primetime Emmy nominations as EP for PBS broadcasts, “When Families Grieve,” hosted by Katie Couric, and “When Parents Are Deployed,” starring Cuba Gooding, Jr., she has garnered over 40 awards.
Chosen as a top ten finalist for TEDx Manhattan “Changing the Way We Eat” for her iDig2Learn initiative, she actively advocates for city children to explore science and the origin of food through plants. Christina produced concerts with Hollywood Bowl and productions in China, Germany, and Greece.
She is an Academy member based in NYC.
Claudine Marrotte – Co-Chair, PGA Green East
Claudine Marrotte is a New York City based Creative and Tactical Producer of Film and Television with a Holistic Approach. She strives to create balance on her sets by providing healthy food, team work, celebrating crew (their successes and mistakes) and setting realistic, workable expectations. Her commitment to excellence has leader her to be an active member or the Producers Guild of America (PGA) and Indie Blogger for New York Women in Film and Television (NYWIFT).
Her recent projects include “I am Michael”, starring James Franco & Zack Quinto (Sundance Premiere) and “Manhattan Nocturne” starring Adrien Brody & Yvonne Strahovski. She is currently producing a pilot for Amazon Studios.
Fred Baron – Chair Emeritus/Founder, PGA Green West
Fred is currently EVP of Feature Production at Twentieth Century Fox. With Fox since 1990, he has overseen the production of feature films that include Knight & Day, The Day the Earth Stood Still, Borat, Edward Scissorhands, Broken Arrow, Romeo and Juliet and both X-Files features.
Fred took a hiatus from Fox from 1999-2001 to produce the critically acclaimed film Moulin Rouge with Baz Luhrmann, which won many awards including the PGA’s Darryl F. Zanuck Producer of the Year Award and received a Best Picture nomination from the Motion Picture Academy.
Kathleen Courtney – Founder, PGA Green West
Kathleen has enjoyed working as Producer, Production Manager or EVP of Production on such feature films as Bowfinger, The Score, Daredevil, Law Abiding Citizen and Lucky You, among others. Her most recent film is the upcoming Of Men And Mavericks, due out in October 2012.
Kathleen is serving her fourth term on the Board of Directors of the PGA, and is the Chair of the PGA Green Committee West. She helped launch PGAgreen.org and GreenProductionGuide.com, and is also a founding member of the entertainment industry’s Green Production Alliance, having been elected to their first steering committee.
Kathleen spends her free time helping homeless dogs finding permanent placement in loving homes, and is very involved in the holistic medical treatment of animals.
